Dr Avinash Kulkarni is a highly qualified and compassionate Consultant Neurologist with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of neurological conditions. He is currently practicing in Bengaluru and is known for his patient-centered approach, clear communication, and evidence-based care.
Dr Avinash has completed his DM in Neurology from the prestigious Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology (SCTIMST), one of India’s premier institutes for neurological care. He also holds advanced fellowships in Neuroimmunology (Multiple Sclerosis and related demyelinating disorders) and is an International Sleep Disorders Specialist certified by the World Sleep Society.
With over 12 years of medical training and experience, Dr Avinash has worked at leading tertiary care and referral centers such as Manipal Hospital, NIMHANS and is currently a Consultant Neurologist at Gleneagles BGS Hospital, Bengaluru. He has vast experience in managing both common and complex neurological conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, headaches and migraines, Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders, nerve and muscle disorders, and autoimmune neurological diseases.
Dr Avinash has special expertise in acute stroke care, including thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy, as well as in the management of multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica, autoimmune encephalitis, and other neuroimmunological disorders. He is trained in advanced neurological investigations such as EEG, nerve conduction studies (NCS), EMG, and other electrophysiological tests.
Apart from clinical care, Dr Avinash is actively involved in academic research and has presented his work at national and international conferences, including the World Stroke Congress.
